Kyoko Hamada’s alter-ego Kikuchiyo-san is the artist’s prediction of what her older self might be like. Her photographic series, “I Used To Be You” is a musing on individuality as is goes through the inevitable process of aging.
The project started when the artist’s eye was caught by Tourdulich a silver wig in Brooklyn back in 2012. With a juxtaposition between vibrant colors and the worn out mask of old age, the artist’s work is uncanny. Read more insights into her inspiration .
